DRC Mining Week 2025 : A Landmark Event for the Mining Industry in the DRC  

From June 11 to June 13, 2025, Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), hosted the 20th edition of DRC Mining Week, the largest national summit dedicated to the mining industry. The event brought together several hundred exhibitors from across the mining value chain, showcasing innovations, fostering collaborations, and addressing key challenges within the sector. 

ENGEN DRC, operating under its institutional brand Vivo Energy, participated prominently in the event. Representing its commercial brands ENGEN for fuel and SHELL for lubricants, ENGEN DRC seized the opportunity to solidify its presence in the mining industry. Notably, the company announced its new role as the official distributor of SHELL lubricants in the region, a significant milestone in its expansion strategy. 

Over the course of three days, DRC Mining Week featured a series of impactful conferences that addressed critical issues such as ensuring the sustainability of mining operations, fostering development among various mining stakeholders, and prioritizing environmental protection and community welfare. These discussions underscored the importance of balancing industrial growth with responsible practices. 

For ENGEN DRC, the event proved to be a valuable platform for exploring diverse business opportunities across multiple sectors, including commercial ventures, retail operations, logistics, and corporate partnerships. The summit facilitated networking and strategic discussions that could pave the way for future collaborations and growth. 

Among the notable moments during the event were high-profile visits to the ENGEN DRC booth. Cyrille Mutombo, Director of Kibali Gold Mine (a member of Barrick), and Louis Watum, Minister of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, were key figures who engaged with ENGEN DRC representatives.
